Vision Systems At one time, robotic and automation solutions were restricted to all but the simplest "pick and place" operations. That is no longer the case. The use of state-of-the-art vision systems provides the ability to automate even highly sophisticated operations. By integrating vision with robotics, the need for hard-tooled positioning of product can be totally eliminated. Computers are now able to make pre-programmed decisions based on the results of recognition, inspection and orientation information that is provided in fractions of a second. Roskam provides expertise in vision equipment, programming, and interfacing vision data with robotics. This means that the total solution is built to work in concert, providing the most streamline solution possible. Recognition
Inspection
The robot can then take different actions with each part based
on the information Vision inspection information is also far more accurate and richer in detail than human inspection techniques, therefore increasing the speed and accuracy of the inspection process. |
Orientation This data is then passed to the robot so that the robot action can be performed with accuracy and precision. The ability to maintain production speed is enhanced by the capacity to track parts while moving down a moving conveyor. Identification, location and orientation information is available to the robot instantaneously. This allows the robot to know exactly where every part is at all times. When the robotics are called upon to perform automated tasks, there is no delay in that performance. |
